Kano Line To Collaborate With Private Sector To Improve It’s Fleet

The Acting Managing Director of kano line, Alhaji Saidu Abdullahi Shuaibu has disclosed plans by the Transport company to enter into public private partnership – PPP to improve its fleet of vehicles.

 

Alhaji Saidu Abdullahi who is also the Chairman of the State government committee on the Revival of kano line disclosed this when members of the committee and the Directors paid a fact finding visit to kano State Investment and properties limited KSIP. according to a statement signed by Abubakar Ibrahim Sharada, Public Relations Officer of the company.

 

The Acting Managing Director Said kano line at present lacks functional Commercial vehicles for transportation as well as modern Terminus within which to operate.

 

He Said since the establishment of the company thirty five years ago it has been lagging behind its sister mass Transit companies across the country.

 

Alhaji Saidu Abdullahi Shuaibu therefore reiterated the resolve of the Revival committee to look into ways of reviving the glory of Kano Line and put it on a sound footing to enable it become an investment hub for the government and people of the state.

 

The Acting Managing Director pointed out that due to lack of enough resources government would no longer finance all the activities of the company, hence the need to explore other means of investment for it to survive.

 

Responding, the Managing Director of Kano state Investment and properties limited, Alhaji Auwalu Muktari Bichi assured of his readiness to give every support and co-operation to enable Kano Line Revival committee to succeed in its assignment.

 

He commended the Acting Managing Director of the company and other committee members for their dedication towards effective discharge of their assignment.
