Land Rectification: KNSG Gives 31st January Deadline Ultimatum

The Ultimate Recertification deadline of 31st January 2025 given by the governor of Kano State Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf of titled documents by land owners still stand according to State Commissioner Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, Hon Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar.

He gave the announcement during a press conference recently held at the Ministry.

He urged land owners who are yet to recertify their documents, to do so before the end of the deadline “in order to protect and secure their land related properties.

The Commissioner announced that, since the announcement people are responding by recertifying their land documents. “We are proud to state that we have had over 1,000,000 (one million) distinct recertification; from conversion to name change and actual recertification applications”

The commissioner encouraged people in the state to hurry and recertify their title documents before the 31st of January 2025 in order to avoid any unpleasant experience by the ministry.

Adding that the ministry is going to introduce new land order in the state “at this juncture it is vital to mention the tremendous efforts been made to begin Sectional Titling in the State, which is set to begin anytime from now.

It will ease the ownership of Housing Estates, Plazas, Block of Flats and Markets, and will also enhance the internally generated revenue of the state”.

He expressed appreciation and gratitude to the state governor for the tremendous supports given to the ministry and the confidence which enable the ministry to accomplish its goals in the service of the people of the state.

It could be recalled that the Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf officially flagged off the recertification of titled documents on 25th November, 2024 according to recertified over 2,000 CofOs and still counting.
