The African Centre for Civil Rights Social Justice and Good Governance has urged President elect Bola Ahmed to review the appointment in Hadeija Jama are River Basin Development Authority Kano under the supervision of Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
The Executive Director of the Centre Dr. Bashir Shehu made the appeal for what he described illegal removal of its former Managing Director known as Dr. Ado Khalid who was replaced with incompetent current MD Ma’un Da u Aliyu.
He alleged that, the appointment of Mre. Da’u was based on personal interest/aggrandisement/ gaining of the minister of Water Resources Sulaiman Adamu Kazaure.
Earlier he said, President Muhammad Buhari has approved the renewal tenure of Ado Khalid looking as his track record of performance as MD because he was able to provide good Governance such as promotion/advancement of staff, general renovation of Hadeija Jama’ are and saving it from total collapse.
Also, he enumerated some of his achievements which include provision of good working condition environment, installation of Solar system in the building in absence of electricity, provision of air-conditioning system in all the offices, provision of vehicles and Indeed other operational vehicles, track good projects executed under his supervision, boosting the moral of staff by provision welfare and soft loan to the staff during his stay in office.
Others include fencing of Hadeija Jama’are Farm Outlook along Wudil Road, proper arranging and general provision of good water channel system in Bunkure, Tiga Rurum Kura, Garun Mallam all in his effort boost determination of small farmers and agricultural development in the mentioned.
He said, under his administration various water tanks have been built for agricultural purposes in Jigawa, Kano, Bauchi Jama are and some part of Yobe State.
However he said, the current MD has executed no projects since his emerged as MD of the authority. “The findings of the Centre revealed that there are so many reasons over the replacement of the then MD Dr. Ado Khalid one is a project proposal at Tiga in Bebeji Local Government which the Centre wants the President Elect to constitute a committee of investigation to investigate it .
The centre is apparently appealing to the President Elect, Asiwaju Bola to please review the said case and return Dr. Ado Khalid to complete his approved tenure.
