in an efforts to curtail the menace of insecurity in the state,the special taskforce against illicit drugs and phones snatching (MISSSK) has succeeded in arresting four hoodlums in connection with phone snatching in Kano.
According to a statement signed by MUHD DAHIR IDRIS Director Public Relations and Enlightenment MISSSK said the suspects were arrested at Hadejia road and Eastern by pass on Tuesday at about 8 o’clock in the night.
According to the chairman of the Taskforce retired general Gambo Ahmad Mai’adua said in a frantic effort by the members of the taskforce, who spread across all nooks and crannies of the state, they were able to arrest four phone snatchers at eastern by pass, while trying to escape after snatched a phone from a passerby.
He revealed that their personnel also succeeded in confiscating two tricycles from the phones snatchers.
He however disclosed that their security personnel stationed along Hadejia road also arrested two phone snatchers after having lynched of one their security officer ,who is now receiving medical treatment.
While commenting on the good effort by the members of the Taskforce, the commissioner in-charge of the ministry of internal security and special services, retired Ibrahim Umaru, renews the determination of the state government to deal decisively with any body found disrupting the relative peace in the state.
He however,commended members of the Taskforce for their giant stride and pledges government’s logistics support to enable them discharge their duties diligently.
